"getting into art is taking time to honor your existence"

Diabat coloring project

The Murals Project is a nonprofit initiative that began in collaboration with “L’association-Couleurs,” founded by my friend Jerimi Caille. When my friend left after a month of working together and creating murals around the city, I made a promise to keep the project alive. Our mission is to involve children, especially those who lack access to art and creative expression, giving them a chance to experience the joy of creating something meaningful.

I immediately fell in love with the idea of providing a space where these children, in whom I see a reflection of myself, could freely express themselves through art. There’s something magical about watching kids, filled with excitement, emerging from every corner of the village to pick up a paintbrush and splash vibrant colors onto the walls. It brings me immense joy to see their happiness and sense of freedom.

Through this project, we bring together not just art but also joy, peace, and a sense of belonging to the entire village. The murals have transformed the atmosphere, making the village feel warmer, safer, and more welcoming. I’ve noticed that wherever there is art, people feel more open to connection and heart-to-heart communication.

My dream is to paint the entire village with the help of anyone who shares this vision. I warmly welcome support, whether by joining us on Saturday afternoons for mural painting or by contributing materials such as paintbrushes, paints, or even small gifts like pencils or paper for the children. These small gestures make a huge difference in their lives and help them see the world with new eyes.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping make the world a more beautiful place!
